The club was formed in March 2021 after the establishment of Nepal Super League the first ever franchise football league in Nepal, under the supervision of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).

The club happened to formed when NSL provided an opportunity for MAW to once again contribute to football development and growth. The NSL team approached MAW in two ways to be part of the inaugural historical event, either as the primary sponsor or the team's owner. - MAW considered the latter, as it gives more opportunity to connect with football fans and improve football roots. Since MAW has been operating from Kathmandu for the last 25 years plus, they considered Kathmandu to be their base. The Identity [name & logo -Kathmandu is a cultural city, the values of the town on its culture are immense. Football is more than a sport in Kathmandu; it's another culture.

Many 'A' division clubs are based here but divided. With Kathmandu RayZRs, it allowed them to represent the whole of Kathmandu as one team, one club. - In the club's badge, too, they have carried a representation of Eagle, a booted eagle that flies over the Kathmandu Valley's sky as the apex predator, not fearing anything has a broader perspective and vision over everything. The color mix in the logo is Nepal, Blue, Red and white. - For the name too, the club performs the attributes they are their latest product 'RayZR125 FI'. The Identity matched, and hence, they called it 'Kathmandu RayZRs'.

The club played their first match on 24 April 2021 against Lalitpur City F.C.
